Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2

A broad balanced and progressive curriculum based on the requirements of the National Curriculum  is followed. Our curriculum has been developed to ensure that it gives children the opportunity to develop the skills needed for the 21st century.

The curriculum consist of the core subjects;
Mathematics, English, Science, Information Technology and Religious Education and the Foundation Subjects; Geography,  History, Technology, Music, Art, Physical Education, French.

The core subjects of english, maths and science are taught with close links to the topics that the children are learning about to further enhance their understanding whenever this is possible. Some areas of maths and science need to be taught discretely.

Start of the Day

Our school day begins at 8.45. The classroom doors are open and parents are welcome to bring their children to their class and spend some time reading with them. The children are then expected to sit down for register at 9.00.

The children have their dinners in the Upper School Hall. There are two sittings, school dinners are served on their first sitting using family service. Packed lunches are eaten on second sitting using a similar system to the family system.
